About Me

I’m Maggie Marie, founder and photographer behind The Femme Gaze, based in Asheville, NC. I specialize in story-driven photography that honors the body, celebrates authenticity, and invites deep connection.

My love for photography began 25 years ago, developing black-and-white film in an art barn on my boarding school campus in England. That early experience sparked a lifelong devotion to visual storytelling—one that continues to evolve through my work with clients today.

In addition to photography, my background in somatic healing and trauma-informed coaching deeply informs the way I hold space. I approach each session with presence, intention, and a belief in the transformative power of being witnessed. For me, photography is not just about capturing images—it’s about creating a sacred space where healing, embodiment, and creative expression meet.

I offer sessions that center your story and celebrate your becoming, including boudoir, branding, graduation, birth, and elopements. Whether you're stepping into your power, marking a transition, or simply wanting to be seen as you are, I'm here to help you create something meaningful and true.
